How We are Helping the Community

Did you know that Asheville Cat Weirdos Emergency Fund is a registered 501c3 non-profit?

Our main goal is to help people with pet retention. When people fall on hard times, often they have to sacrifice their pets’ health or may even have to surrender their pet to already overflowing shelters. We try to prevent that “worst case scenario” with our three main programs, all geared towards cats specifically, as our founder felt like there were already enough dog programs in our area.

The nonprofit consists of the ACWEF which helps pay for veterinary costs, the ACW Cat Pantry which distributes food and cat litter to those in need, and our grant-funded spay and neuter program which gives out vouchers so kittens and cats can be “fixed”. All of our programs depend on donations from our community and the dedicated efforts of our volunteers. We literally could not do this without you all!
