In the wake of Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact on Western North Carolina, our community has faced unprecedented challenges. As an all-volunteer organization dedicated to serving the cats of WNC, we’ve been working tirelessly to restore our services. Today, we’re reaching out to our community for support in reopening our critical Emergency Vet Fund.
Current Status
- Emergency Vet Fund: Temporarily closed due to hurricane aftermath
- Food Pantry: Fully operational and serving our feline friends
The Challenge
Our Emergency Vet Fund, which provides crucial financial assistance for urgent veterinary care, has been offline since Hurricane Helene struck. As an organization that operates primarily online, the storm’s impact on our infrastructure has made reopening this vital service a daunting task.
How You Can Help
We’re actively seeking volunteers to join our current intake team. This role is critical in processing applications for veterinary assistance and requires:
- Internet access
- Basic computer skills
- A passion for helping cats in need
By volunteering, you’ll play a direct role in getting our Emergency Vet Fund back up and running, ensuring that cats in our community receive the urgent care they need.
Why It Matters
Every day that our Emergency Vet Fund remains closed is a day that a cat in need might go without critical care. Your contribution of time and skills can make a life-saving difference for the felines of Western North Carolina.
